Part 5 Article 148-151 Comptroller and Auditor General
of India. He is the head of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.He also
call as Guardian of the public purse. Comptroller and Auditor General is a Constitutional Authority appoint by The President of India with favour
of The Prime Minister of India.
He controls
the entire financial system of the country at center and state level. CAG audits all receipts and
expenditure of the government of India and state governments. CAG also external auditor of government-owned
corporations and conducts audit of government companies.
His Central Government Reports present to The President and State Government Reports
to The Governor.
He holds the
office for the period of 6 yrs or age 65
whichever is earlier.
He can
resign anytime from his office by addressing the resignation letter to the
president. CAG also removed by The President on same manner as judge of Supreme
court.

ATTORNEY GENERAL OF INDIA:
Article 76
has provided for the office of the Attorney General of India. Attorney General
is a constitutional Functionary. He is
the Highest Law officer in the Country and Primary Lawyer in Supreme court of
India
He must be a
person qualified to be appointed as a Supreme court Judge that means He should
be a citizen of India and judge of some high court for five years or an lawyer
of some High court for ten years. The President of India appointed AG. The Attorney
General is assisted by two solicitors General and four Additional solicitors
General.
He is responsible
for giving Advice to Govt of India upon such legal matters. He has the Right to speak in the either House
of Parliament but he has no Right to vote. He has Right of audience in all
courts of India.
Attorney
General of India does not have any executive authority. In India Executive
Authority functions are performed by the Law Minister.
The Indian Constitution
does not provide for fixed tenure to Attorney General. So he holds office
during the pleasure of the president. He
can be removed by the president at anytime. There is no procedure or ground
mentioned in the constitution for his removal.
